My Journey in Writing This Book

My Journey in Writing This Book

Writing this book is the hardest thing I have ever done.

I have always believed in the power of storytelling, but this story—her story, my story, our stories—have tested me in ways I never imagined. It is raw, painful, and deeply personal. Yet, I know it must be told. Not just for me, but for my daughter, for survivors, and for anyone who has ever felt silenced.

When I first sat down to write, I was overwhelmed. How do you put pain into words? How do you relive moments that shattered you? But as I typed, the weight on my chest began to shift. I realized that writing this book isn’t just about documenting what happened—it’s about reclaiming power. It’s about taking control of the narrative and ensuring that my daughter’s story is not hidden in the shadows.

Every chapter is a step toward justice. Every sentence is a promise that our voices will not be ignored.

Some days, the words flow easily, and other days, I stare at a blank screen for hours. But I push forward because this book is bigger than me. It is about truth. It is about strength. And it is about breaking the silence.

I invite you to walk this journey with me. To bear witness. To stand in support of the fight for justice and advocacy.

Thank you for being here.
